Excitement is rising in both Boherbue and Lyre ahead of this Sunday’s E Tarrant & Sons Skoda Dealer Duhallow JAFC Final in Castlemagner(7pm).

Joint Boherbue captain Kevin Cremin in none too unfazed by the prospect of a historic hat trick of titles.

“At the start of the season, the object was to get to a Duhallow Final. This season's format involved a round robin series, more games and competitive tussles against Lyre, Cullen and Knocknagree”, he said.

Lyre vice captain Brian O'Keeffe is part of a Lyre set up that have proved their worth since the start of the decade. 2010 emerged special for Cork on regaining the Sam Maguire Cup, just a week later, Lyre were writing a new name on the Duhallow JAFC roll of honour.

“Prior to 2010, we had operated in Junior B level, a first time win over Kanturk proved a stepping stone. We've made steady progress over the past decade and appear in our fourth JAFC final”, he said.
