DUHALLOW TEAMS HIT WINNING WAYS IN CO. C'SHIP

Kanturk pulled off a deserved 0-19 to 1-13 win over Erins Own in the Co. SHC thanks to a gutsy and determined effort. Seán Carey showed no ill effects from helping Ballydesmond the previous evening on clocking up a 0-8 tally with Anthony Nash also on target to allow Kanturk advance to a Round 3 meeting against Ballyhea.


Co. Premier IFC

Newmarket took over during thr second half to record a 1-13 to 1-10 victory over Naomh Abán at Millstreet. Conor O'Keeffe's early goal set Newmarket out on their stall yet they trailed by four at the break only for the initiative veer back to Newmarket on the restart to outscore their opponents 0-8 to 0-1 to book a Round 3 clash with Éire Óg.


Co. IFC

Ballydesmond  battened the hatches in dreadful conditions to secure a narrow 0-19 to 1-15 win over Kildorrery after extra time at Kilbrin. Handball star Brendan Fleming came off the bench to secure the winning point and book a passage to a Round 3 meeting against Glanmire.

Millstreet warded off the intentions of Youghal 0-19 to 0-13 to a competitive clash at Carrig na bhFear. Recovering from a low key start, Millstreet improved, substitute Mark Ellis kicked four points in the second half to secure a Round 3 position against Mayfield.

Meelin maintained their winning run after a 3-16 to 1-17 victory over Ballymartle at Donoughmore. A pair of goals from Eamonn Brosnan and a third by William Murphy laid the groundwork for success in a game where Ballymartle's Barry Dwyer put 1-14 on the board.
