Bravery wasn’t enough to save Kiskeam from bowing out of the Co. SFC following a 0-17 to 1-9 defeat to Ballincollig at a sunsplashed Ballyclough. Waiting five months since their previous encounter in the grade, Kiskeam added to a really enjoyable encounter.

Ballincollig enjoyed a brighter start only for Kiskeam’s game to erupt coming up to the interval and a terrific goal from Mike Herlihy goal helped secure a 1-5 to 0-7 interval advantage.

Ballincollig returned meaning business to regain the lead yet just a single score separated the pair inside the closing 10 minutes. Any lingering doubt about the destination of the spoils was knocked on the head with Ballincollig points to Cian Dorgan, Darren Murphy, Gary Comerford and Seán Kiely.
