Co.  IFC  Final

Knocknagree  v Gabriel  Rangers

Saturday, November  2: Pairc Uí Rinn,  7pm

Referee:  Cormac Dineen(Douglas)

No matter the outcome here, both sides will operate at Premier intermediate ranks next season yet Knocknagree and Gabriel Rangers are keen to be promoted as champions.  Gabriels  can vouch for a win over Knocknagree in the 2016 Co. JAFC semi final replay before going on to land county honours from Shamrocks.  A few seasons at intermediate ranks, Gabriels are on the march again, upsetting the formbook to  secure wins over Adrigole, Kinsale and Dromtariffe enroute.

Of course Knocknagree were touted as amongst the favourites at the outset, duly obliging on a triumphant march , from a lone preliminary game, Knocknagree overcame Kildorrery by nine points, each of their subsequent victories have been by double digit margins, Knocknagree showing no mercy for Youghal, Ballinora, Aghabullogue and Millstreet.

Though incurring a blip to Gabriels 2016, a resurgent Knocknagree recovered and a devastating surge helped claim the title twelve months on before adding Munster and All Ireland honours. Since winning the All Ireland accolades, Knocknagree  have matured into a powerful force with a number of new faces on board.

Interestingly, Knocknagree began the current decade on a winning note, an U16 team from 2011 enjoyed success, sowing the seeds for the future. Many of those teenage faces now feature with Knocknagree's Intermediate side , Duhallow & Cork. Best of luck in the Co. Final.
