Boherbue 1-18, Cullen 0-6

THE formbook held firm as a fancied  Bohebue produced a scorching display to better Cullen in the Castlecor Potatoes  Duhallow JAFC  Final at Dromtariffe on Saturday.

On doing so, the four in a row winners possessed too much craft and cunning for a Cullen side that

threw down the gauntlet from the outset only to find themselves on the backfoot as the opening half progressed.

Cullen had started on a positive note, encouraged by the play of u21 players Cormac Hickey and Luke Murphy, they carried the game to the champions. However once Boherbue’s Andrew O’Connor sliced through the centre of the Cullen defence to blast to the net, it allowed the champions hold a  1-7 to 0-3 grip at the break.

And Boherbue strengthened  their hand on the restart through the efforts of man of the match Kevin Cremin,  C J O’Sullivan, Patrick Daly and John Corkery.  Briefly Cullen improved  for  Murphy and Andrew Meade to point in quick succession.

Boherbue responded, a run of late points confirmed the destination of accolades for team captain Kevin Murphy accept the silverware from Board Chairman Joe Kearns in the company of Championship sponsor Ned English representing Castlecor Potatoes.
