DROMTARRIFFE & BANTEER IN NOVEL JAHC FINAL

Excitement is evident in both Dromtarriffe and Banteer for Sunday’s eagerly awaited E Tarrant & Sons Sloda Dealer Duhallow Junior A Hurling Championship Final in Meelin.

Dromtarriffe captain Jack Murphy is thrilled to be back playing after recovering from injury in the club’s fourth appearance in a final in five years.

“Its great to be in a position to lead the club, there is a great buzz, Dromtarriffe have done exceptionally well in recent years. However, our immediate focus is on Sunday and we need to be at our best if we’re to retain the title”, said Jack.

Banteer’s last outright win surfaced in 2017 under the guidance of Richard O’Connor, who again holds the distinction of leading his team out on Sunday.

“The past few years have been difficult, particularly the so called Covid championship years where Banteer disappointed. We’ve enjoyed the run to the final in some close contests, Dromtarriffe are favourites but we will be determined to win and add to previous successes”, said Richard.

Throw in to the big game is 3pm, early comers can sample the curtain raiser on the meeting of Freemount and Newmarket in the Junior B Hurling Final at 1pm.
